Intimate Goan Wedding
His Gujarati family wore Kerala 'mundus', and her Malayali family enjoyed traditional Kerala dances in Rajasthan. Check out Dhruvil and Meghana's nuptials that included cultures of three Indian states.
Paris is the realm of the senses – cuisine, couture, culture – everything about its streets, its people, its places fills a visitor with a certain je ne sais quoi. And then, is it any wonder that such a sensual place is also regarded as the City of Love?
Pooja and Harsh knew they wanted a pre-wedding shoot in Paris. Harsh lives in Paris and so that’s one of the first things they mentioned when we were finalizing their wedding photography They wanted us to capture their chemistry and love in the city against a few Parisian icons and Harsh really wanted us to capture the precious moments of Pooja discovering and experiencing his city. And thats exactly what we tried to bring out in their pre-wedding film.
Each picture captures a facet of their emotions and the weather was no dampener either, “It was windy and drizzling and turned out to be the perfect ingredient for some fun ‘in the rain with an umbrella’ shots. Take a look at the couple’s stunning photographs at Montmartre, Moulin Rouge, the Louvre, Champs Elysees and last but not the least, La Dame de Fer: The Eiffel Tower.
This is unusual "arranged" love story of a couple who didn't really get to meet up in person before their wedding was fixed! The chatterbox bride did really woo the groom away with her talkative nature and that's what made them bond during all the phone/Skype conversations they had (as they were continents apart - Australia | India ). But still neither one of them did actually say a "YES" before their first meeting which was just 20 days before their wedding date!
ANAND & BHAGYALAXMI -Pre-Wedding shoot in Udaipur
“We both have a love for palaces. We initially wanted a palace wedding but for a lot of people in our family it was difficult to travel all the way to Udaipur! So we thought why not do a pre-wedding shoot in Udaipur. It is going to be with us forever and we can cherish it if it is in our favorite place. For us Udaipur is the city of love.” - Bhagyalaxmi
Right from the beginning the couple was interested in doing a classy and vintage shoot with real touch of history. Udaipur definitely became their instant choice and we decided to go ahead and explore the city.
Shot over three days in Udaipur, this couple shoot really turned out to be one of its kind as rather than shooting in just one or two big properties, we decided to venture out into the city, palaces, havelis and the lakes. From driving in a 1963 convertible Standard Herald Vintage car to riding in a private boat at lake Pichola, from the palace in middle of the lake (Jagmandir, Lake Pichola) to the palace on top of the hill (Sajjangarh Monsoon palace), from early sunrises in the lake to sunsets in the hills, we did it all for the shoot!
The couple were very fun loving and full of love. It was actually one of their first outing together and so they had such a memorable time in the city being with each other. The couple’s love and chemistry was so good that this whole shoot turned out to be an amazing one with loads of beautiful photographs!
Location - Jagmandir Palace, Lake Pichola
Located in the middle of lake Pichola, this Palace turned hotel offered an amazing backdrop for the evening shoot. The couple grabbed quite of lot of attention from the foreign tourists who just couldn’t get over clicking the lovely duo. And we got our opportunity to try some quirky shots with the crowd!
Location 1 – Vintage Car ride in the streets of Udaipur Old city
For the next day we planned something special, we had arranged a vintage car, the convertible red colored Standard Herald 1963. The couple was all dressed up for the vintage shoot on the streets of old Udaipur. We started early morning to avoid the traffic but still it turned out to be a challenge. Firstly the traffic, secondly all the attraction we gathered with our lovely couple dressed up and riding in this beautiful vintage car. But obviously we did manage to pull off some really classy shots of the couple with the vintage car. And not to forget the ride was awesome!
Location 2 –Gangaur Ghat & Bagore ki Haveli
Gangore Ghat is located on the banks of Lake Pichola with an awesome view of Lake Palace. The best part about this location is that it is also a pigeon-feeding place and so we got to take some beautiful shots of the couple with pigeon flying all around.
Bagore ki Haveli, is located right next to Gangore Ghats. This old haveli has recently been restored and is actually a museum with not too many people around. Lovely courtyards, chatris, and a great view to the Lake Pichola, altogether contributed to some wonderful shots.
Location 3 – Sajjangarh Monsoon Palace
Sajjangarh palace is a hilltop palatial residence, overlooking the Fatehsagar Lake. Its one of the best Sunset points in Udaipur. As expected, it was too crowded but we tried vacating a few frames. Right after the sunset people started to leave and so by the time, when we still have those beautiful colors in the sky, we had the palace all-empty for us. And got a great opportunity to try some flash photography, the result was heavenly.
Location – Boat Ride in Lake Pichola
The next morning we planned to take few clicks at the Lake Pichola and had rented a private boat for the morning. For sometime we were off the boat with couple sailing around and us taking clicks from the banks of Lal ghat and Amrai Ghat. With a little bit of coordinating on phone with the couple and asking the rider to move back and forth we eventually managed to get some serene shots of the couple with magnificent landscape of Lake Pichola.
Post Wedding Shoot
Location – The Oberoi Udaivilas, Udaipur
The couple had some time to spare while staying in Udaivilas post wedding and we did a very quick couple shoot at the property.
The old city of Ahmedabad has always been close to our heart. Since our days in Architecture college, we have been regularly visiting the old part of city to explore its vibrant architecture and it never failed to surprise us. Those narrow streets, colorful walls and houses with courtyards truly makes worthy of being a world heritage list. When Varun and Madhu approached us for a pre-wedding shoot, they wanted to shoot at a historic landscape but didn’t want the clichéd couple shoot in traditional attire at some famous historic monument instead they wanted to try something quirky. We had a longing to shoot in the old city of Ahmedabad and when we discussed the idea with them they had an instant yes.
As architects turned wedding photographers, we always thought of these spaces with a different perspective; the contrast of these spaces where the old heritage is overwritten with today’s lifestyle and wanted to capture that some way. With this pre-wedding shoot, we got a chance to shoot the love of a newly engaged couple amidst the history of one of the oldest heritage city in the world. It was pretty challenging but trust us, totally worth it!
We thought it would be easy to start early morning when the city is still sleeping and the streets are pretty empty and decided to meet at the Swami Narayan temple near Kalupur at sunrise from where the heritage walk starts. Click here to learn about the heritage walk in Ahmedabad old city and why you should definitely take a walk here!
So our plan was to follow the heritage walk route and shoot at different locations along the way! When we reached there early morning, it was already bustling with locals and street vendors. We have shot at many public places in India before and the people & local authorities have been a real trouble but this one turned out to be a total opposite affair. The people were so supportive that the bike and thela (hand cart) you see the couple riding was of a local vegetable vendor who was about to setup his business and allowed us sometime to use it for the shoot. Also the residents of the houses and the courtyards we shot, were pretty cool with us shooting there.
The location has so much to offer that you just can’t get over of it. We were so mesmerized that we merely walked 500 meters and it was already 2 hours we have been shooting.
Varun is settled in Australia and came for a very short period to attend his sister’s wedding and getting engaged to Madhu. Even though he is born and brought up in Ahmedabad he never actually visited the old city. So for him it was like seeing the city as a tourist with Madhu and spending some quality time with her. I truly believe that a pre-wedding shoot is more about spending some fun time together while the photographer captures their chemistry of love.
The couple were very fun loving, full of love, and always ready to try new things. They just loved spending time together (whatever little together time they had in this Varun's short visit to India!) and that actually brought out the chemistry between them which is also reflected in their photographs. After many years the only photos we can really connect with are the ones that actually capture the essence of who we are in real and thats precisely what we attempted to capture in this pre-wedding shoot!
Shot over two days at multiple locations in and around Ahmedabad, this couple shoot had shots ranging from fun casual to editorial style ones!
Cameras & Lenses - Canon 5D Mark III, Canon 6D, Canon 50mm f 1.4, Sigma 85mm f1.4, Canon 24mm f1.4, Canon 17mm-40mm f4.0
This three day long big fat destination wedding at Radisson Blu, Udaipur was total fun affair. The wedding had guests coming from all over India to be a part for the extravagant celebrations that included a pool party, mehendi, sangeet and the grand wedding.

Modern and contemporary designs are something that nowadays young couples are looking for in their wedding invitations. Just like most of our clients Prerak and Manali too came to us all exhausted after checking out hundreds of standard wedding invitations readily available in the market. We calmed them down with a cup of tea at our studio and listened to their problem. In their 15 min of confused talk all that we could pull out was that they wanted something fresh, something that reflected their style.
We had a longing to experiment with flowers as it play a significant role in weddings and having invitation card designed in a floral theme somewhat gives a blend of traditional elegance with a fresh modern outlook. They loved the idea and decided to go ahead with the floral theme for their wedding. We shared with them some beautiful floral based handmade paper samples and they couldn’t be happier!
